Do-It-Yourself Projects
So I'm not the most crafty person in the world but I love the idea of certain parts of my wedding being done by myself and my fiance. I think it really makes the wedding personal and that much more special. I have a few projects in mind so we will see how things go. My fiance is an animator and artist so he is very into this whole thing which is perfect because I am the art history major while he is the artist. I have the art eye and he has the art skills so we make a good DIY team!
Monogram
My first DIY! I created this in InDesign and I'm pretty happy with the result. I still may make a few tweaks but it won't change much.
Cardbox
This was a lot of fun to make. I bought all of the supplies from Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I love the way it turned out!
Unity Candle
Another pretty simple project. The candles are from Hobby Lobby (50% off) and the ribbon is from Michaels.
Bridesmaid's Jewelry Gift Box
This was a very simple project. I just added scrapbook stickers to jewelry gift boxes for a cute little DIY project!
Bridesmaid's Jewelry
This was my very first time making jewelry and it was pretty simple and fun (I may have a new obsession). I watched a couple of tutorials on youtube and I bought all of the supplies (on sale) from JoAnn's. Each set is just a little bit different from one another for each of the girls.
Bridesmaid's Flip Flops
I'm going to give my bridesmaids these cute flip flops to wear at the reception so they don't have to wear dress shoes all day. I bought the flip flops from Old Navy for $1 a pair and I decorated them with ribbon and flowers from JoAnn's.
Box for Kid's Books
We will have a lot of kids at our wedding so I picked up some coloring books from a party supply store to keep them occupied at the reception. I used leftover supplies from my card box to make this cute box for the coloring books!
Monogrammed Aisle Runner
I was so nervous about this project but I am so happy with the result! I used the instructions from the Road to the Aisle blog. I bought the runner at JoAnn's with a 50% off coupon and I already had the paint and paint brushes. Steve and I worked on this together and I love it!
Here Comes the Bride Sign
My four year old nephew is going to be my ring bearer but instead of carrying a ring pillow he is going to carry this sign right before my dad and I walk down the aisle. I'm really happy with the way it turned out!
Bridesmaid's Thank You Cards
I love those "Will You Be My Bridesmaids" cards that a lot of girls make but I didn't see them until after I had already asked my girls so I decided to make some thank you for being in my wedding cards instead. Super easy and super cute!
Reserved Signs
These are my reserved signs that will be on the reception tables for our families. Super easy: paint, jewels, and printed reserved sign!
